What are you most excited about for your first season as Gold Team head coach? I am excited to be working with full time committed athletes achieve their goals. One of the most challenging aspects of being a cross country ski coach is selling the idea that it is okay to “go for something.” No fear, ears bleeding, no care for the outcome. Helping out the Gold Team gives me the chance to help those who have maybe committed to this idea on paper but are figuring out what it actually takes to compete at a very high level.
Why is Sun Valley a great place to live and train? Sun Valley and the Sun Valley Valley Ski Education Foundation of course has a legitimate cultural history surrounding the sport of skiing. What has been more exciting however is the future of the organization. Future training opportunities, such as utilizing a rollerski treadmill, rollerski track, exercise physiology coaching, endless groomed ski terrain are great. These are just a few things that attract me as a coach and high end athletes to the area.
